Zoo San Diego is an amazing
& world-famous zoo. Founded over 90 years ago, the Zoo is genuine tourist magnetism
and has a worldwide status in the field of wildlife and animal care.
Area of San Diego Zoo is
100-acre (40-hectare) and home to over 3,700 rare and endangered animals
representing more than 650 species and subspecies, and a prominent botanical
collection with more than 700,000 exotic plants. It is located north of
downtown San Diego in Balboa Park. The Zoo’s collection was created from a
scattering of specimens that remained in Balboa Park at the close of the
1915-1916 Panama-California International Exposition. Dr. Harry M. Wegeforth,
and friends incorporated it on Oct. 2, 1916. The Zoo has been in its present
location in Balboa Park since 1922. The 100-acre San Diego Zoo has undergone
massive changes since its inception in 1916, innovating designs and exhibits
that feature 4,000 animals representing 800 species. Not only known for its animals, the
San Diego Zoo also has a vast botanical plant and orchid garden. The Orchid House
is open for the Orchid Odyssey on the third Friday of every month. San Diego Zoo Institute for
Conservation Research is one of the largest zoo-based research centers in the
world. Founded in 1975, it is dedicated to preserving and protecting rare and
endangered wildlife and habitats. You will see the flamingos
at the entrance of the zoo. Then, you will watch other animal one by one. Don’t
miss to ride the Double-Decker Guided Bus Tour. It's a great way to start your
day at the Zoo, because it's 35 minutes long and covers about 70 percent of the
Zoo, so you can get an idea for the layout and pick out animals that you want
to return to spend more time seeing. It saves you walking and gets really great
views of a lot of the animals, plus the guides have all kinds of interesting
facts about the Zoo and the animals. You will see the Sky fari Aerial Tram. It’s
is pretty amazing. You get to ride up in the sky with gorgeous views of the
entire San Diego Zoo and neighboring Balboa Park.

Diego Zoo tickets are available in different forms including single day
tickets, multi-day tickets and multi-park tickets. Zoo San Diego is open
year-round with San Diego’s perfect climate. San Diego Zoo hours vary by
season, but the park is open every day of the week including holidays. San
Diego Zoo is a great place to go in San Diego for a lot of reasons. Not only is
it a huge park with almost inexhaustible exciting animal exhibits to see, but
it is also fun for all ages. The park makes an effort to entertain the youngest
